Avalanche Science and Evaluation This practical exam is an on the mountain experience as well as an outdoor evaluation. It involves safely skiing into avalanche prone areas and making observations of avalanche terrain. The Judges will ask the patroller questions while riding chair lifts and expect observations while on the hill. Candidates will need to dig a snow pit and explain to the Judge the data collected.
